Imparting sewing, batik skills to Nabawan folks
A Kota Kinabalu-based social enterprise, G1FT, conducted an integrated sewing and batik-making programme in two villages in Nabawan, recently.
The villages – Kg Binanun and Kg Pangaraan – are located in Mukim Tatalaan and the aim was to empower the local economy and create a sustainable value chain.
Sewing & Generating Economic Empowerment Program for Rural Women in Ranau
The program was implemented under the Special Intervention for Local Coordinator APPGM-SDG Ranau District initiative which included the donation of four sewing machine units as well as the organization of a three-day sewing and entrepreneurship course, with G1FT as the implementing partner.
Who are We & Why We do it
Give 1 For Two Sdn Bhd (G1FT) was established in January 2022 , with the purpose to help underprivileged women in impoverish community (Kota Kinabalu, Sabah ) and to encourage them to step out from poverty by sustainable income and be financially independent .
G1FT was featured by Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia in the series ‘GIFT’ Inspirasi IBU kepada IBU. This interview highlights our journey from a personal family legacy to a social movement.
